Under the Cosmic Canopy: Bryce Canyon at Night
Bryce Canyon, located in southern Utah, is renowned for its unique geological formations called hoodoos—towering spires of rock carved by erosion. This breathtaking national park offers stunning vistas, particularly at sunrise and sunset, when the red, orange, and white rocks glow vividly. Its dark skies also make it a prime destination for stargazing and experiencing the Milky Way in all its splendor.
During our road trip along the West Coast in summer 2024, we planned a stop at Bryce Canyon since it was conveniently on our route. Without many expectations, we found ourselves truly impressed, especially while walking down into the canyon. The combination of towering trees and striking rock formations was simply breathtaking. After capturing a short sunset timelapse, we ventured back into the canyon after dark. The experience was slightly eerie but absolutely worth it, as the stunning night panorama left us in awe.
