Great Conjuction 2020
Saturn and Jupiter near the great conjunction 2020 with the moon, some trees, and clouds in the foreground.
The great conjunction 2020 was a very unique situation where Saturn and Jupiter came very close. The minimum distance was reached on 21 December 2020 where the two planets were almost aligned with each other (When observing them from the earth). It’s been nearly 400 years since the planets passed this close to each other in the sky, and nearly 800 years since the alignment of Saturn and Jupiter occurred this close at night.
